Many nominations had been made by Members who valued the willing service shown by Colin and the Cresswells business, founded by his Uncle, over the past 100 years. Always customer orientated and always willing to go the extra mile to help local residents. This was especially true during the pandemic. The Society is delighted to award the Jones VC Trophy to Colin.

Jones VC Trophy
In 1984 Col. and Mrs Jones granddaughter, Mrs Ruth de Courcey-Ireland, then 80 years old, gave the bowl to The Finchampstead Society, as a trophy to be presented each year to a person or persons who had made a significant voluntary contribution to the local community. First awarded in 1985
With the closure of the Society, the Trophy has been passed on to the Finchampstead Parish Council with the intention that it will continue to be awarded annually on the same premise as before
